Homemade Cheshire Recipes
Sunflower seed and vegetable burger topped with a slice of Spinneyfields cheese and spicy salsa
Ingredients to serve 6:
- 175ml water
- 150g bulgur wheat
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 175g cashew nuts
- 100g unsalted sunflower seeds
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 sprinkle of Tabasco
- Spinneyfields Burger Slices
- Spicy Salsa
- Fresh Parsley
Cooking Method:
- Boil water, bulgur and soy sauce to the boil.
- Then remove from heat and set aside for 10 minutes until the liquid has been absorbed.
- Grind the cashew nuts and sunflower seeds in a food processor.
- Mix the cooked bulgur, ground cashew nuts, sunflower seeds, eggs, chilli powder, garlic and Tabasco in a large bowl.
- Then cover and chill for approximately four hours to infuse the flavours.
- Prepare the grill.
- Shape the burger mixture into 6 burgers.
- Cook them for 10-15 minutes turning if needs be.
- When heated through and browned, top with a Spinneyfields Burger Slice.
- When melted place on a floured bun and add a spoonful of salsa, then serve
